Approach
I utilize an evidence-based approach: the treatments I provide have been demonstrated to be effective in research.
Specifically, the treatments I employ are types of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT involves changing your relationship with thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are keeping you stuck. My approach incorporates mindfulness and facilitating movement toward meaningful living. I have particular expertise in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I apply strategies in a flexible and individualized manner, taking into account my client’s symptoms, experiences, cultural background, and preferences. My approach is collaborative. My clients have shared that they appreciate my balance between accepting them as they are and pushing them toward growth.
I facilitate clients moving toward valued living, so it is important to me to do the same. This includes striving to show up with openness, presence, compassion, and non-judgmentalness. In my personal life I connect with what’s important to me by spending time with my family and friends, connecting to nature in the beautiful mountains, and engaging in activities that keep me grounded including hiking, jogging, camping, skiing, and yoga.
I am LGBTQ+ affirming and welcome clients of all races, cultures, and identities.
